Xavier Splits in Doubleheader Against NKU |

XCB braved the cold on Sunday to continue their conference schedule against the Northern Kentucky University Norse. In the first game, NKU scored two runs in the first inning, but would not cross the plate again as pitcher Joe D’Agostino and the Musketeer defense held the Norse to only six hits. The wily D’Agostino also struck out eight and stopped a sixth inning threat by picking a runner off of third base to end the rally. At the plate, the Musketeers tied the game in the second off and took the lead in the fifth with a four run rally, capped off by a two-RBI single by Eric Duncan. In the second game, pitcher Brenden Regan pitched very well in the loss, striking out six, allowing only seven hits and two runs, one of which was unearned. The Musketeer offense couldn’t back offense couldn’t get off the ground as the team scattered only five hits in eight innings. XCB Receives Club Sports Council Award |
|
The Xavier Club Baseball team was honored this weekend as it was voted as Xavier's Club Sport of the year by the Xavier Club Sports Council. A plaque honoring XCB will be hung in the O'Connor Sports Center and the club will receive a monetary award to purchase equipment for next season. |
